Bethel VS COVID-19
The church has a tremendous opportunity to ignite change. What would the response have been if the coronavirus had broken out during the time of the early church? I know this, they would not have isolated themselves. They would have seen it as an opportunity to spread the gospel of hope.
So I am calling on Bethel to be the disciples of 2020; let's spread the gospel of hope. Here is how:
Make yourself available to help your neighbor by asking if there is anything you can do to help.
If they are older or a single mom, offer to do their grocery shopping (they can order online, and you can pick it up)
Offer to clean anywhere hands go: door handles, inside of cars, etc.
Give them your number in case they have an emergency.
Offer to pray with people.
Offer to take communion with people (Bethel has plenty of communion packets.)
Have them join you in a YouVersion devotional.
Give real hope. Jesus is always with his people. He does not guarantee we won't get sick, but he is the healer and there is SO much more than this life, which is why we have hope.
Listen to the Holy Spirit as you are with people. He will tell you what to say or ask.
I am praying this over everyone I know: May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope. Romans 15:13
